Assistant Principal's Message

Hey Falcon families, just a reminder for your arrival at school we want all of you to be safe! Please use the crosswalks, look both ways and please do not use the staff parking lot to drop off students.

Last Week in Photos

Falcons had a great opportunity to play and perform in SoFi stadium this last week. Great job to the CV Football Team, CV Pep Team , and the CV Marching Band.

Shout out to the CV Boys Water Polo team who secured Pacific League Champs!

This just in! The CV Marching Falcons earned 1st Place and Tournament champions the Mayfair Monsoon Classic yesterday! They also earned High Music, High Percussion, and High Effect! They were THE best band in the whole competition. FALCON AWESOME!

Upcoming Events

PSAT: This Thursday, 10/23, there is a Special Bell Schedule for all students. Some will be taking the PSAT and the others will be seeing an assembly. 12th graders will have the opportunity to see college presentations. 9th-11th graders who aren't taking the PSAT will be completing the CCGI inventories. ALL STUDENTS MUST BRING THEIR CHARGED CHROMEBOOKS TO SCHOOL ON THURSDAY. Parents, if you have a 10th or 11th grader taking the PSAT please do NOT schedule any appointments during testing time (8:30-11:15). If we release a student during that time they will not be able to finish their PSAT and all scores will be null.

Music Spooktacular: Come to our annual Music Spooktacular on Saturday, October 25! Choir and Instrumental will delight everyone with dark and macabre music! Tickets are $10. $25 gets you a BBQ Dinner and music! We'll also have a silent auction to help raise funds for CV's Music Departments!
Concert starts at 3pm and you won't want to miss it!

CVHS Symphony Orchestra: Do you like music? Do you like small groups of musicians playing a variety of music from Coldplay to Classical as well as Family Guy, Howl's Moving Castle, a Tango and music from Carlos Santana? Then we have just the thing! Tuesday, October 21, 7pm at the La Crescenta Presbyterian Church (2902 Montrose Ave.) we will have our annual Ensemble Concert. Only $5.00 for an evening you will not forget!

CVHS ETLP: Presents their annual STAGE FRIGHT haunted maze. Come to experience some Halloween horror.
$5 entry open to everyone on November 1, 2025, from 10:30am - 4pm.

Tutoring: Friday marked the end of the first quarter. If students need additional academic support, please check out the free tutoring options listed on the CV website.

Lego Robotics: Monday, October 20 - 3:30 in Room 1308

CV Track: The stadium will be open Monday through Friday from 3:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. (If the lights are not on, the stadium will close at sunset). The stadium will not be available to the public on holidays.

Advanced Placement Exams

Reminder deadline for AP registration of exams is October 31st. Make sure you have purchased or submitted the Registration Form and any necessary documentation to the AP office first, then you may submit paperwork to the Student Store. Any questions, please contact Dr. Pestonji at Apestonji@gusd.net.

Seniors- All Seniors received a Jostens Order Packet in their Government or Economics classes this week. Extra packets are available in room 1102. Cap and Gown orders are due on Dec. 19, and can be mailed directly to Jostens or ordered online. Easy-to-follow instructions were posted in the Senior Google Classroom. Josten Representative, Kirk Mayer, will be on campus on Oct. 23 and 24 to answer questions and take orders. Please see Mrs. Beers with any questions.

Voter Registration Drive- Members of the Students Demand Action Club will host a voter registration drive this week on the rally platform. Eligible students can register early.

Halloween Costume Contest- ASB will host a Costume Contest on Oct 31. Students are reminded that costumes worn on campus:
  • Should be consistent with our GUSD nondiscrimination policy. This includes costumes of religious or political leaders, costumes or decorations that might be perceived as offensive, considered cultural appropriation, poke fun at others, or costumes that generally breach good taste.  
  • Ask yourself, “Might I offend someone with a costume or decoration?” If there is any doubt, choose something else. 
  • Do not bring replicas of weapons or wear masks that cover the face.

Homecoming - Thanks! ASB would like to give one last Shout Out of Appreciation to all the staff and Falcon Families who donated desserts and snacks, and especially those who gave their time so generously to chaperone and provide the other important services for the 1000+ students who enjoyed the Homecoming Dance. What a fun night! Go Falcons!!
