Applicant must be:

  • A resident of the USA (US Citizen, Permanent Resident, or DACA); and

  • A graduating senior who will attend a 4-year college/university, community college, or trade school in 2025-2026; and

  • A graduating senior from any of the following high schools

    • Crescenta Valley High School

    • Clark Magnet High School

    • Allen F. Daily High School

    • Any private or public high school or home school, while residing in the geographic area known as the “area of residence” for Crescenta Valley High School

The Sons of Italy Western Foundation announces the availability of scholarships for graduating seniors from the Class of 2025

Scholarships are available in the following categories:

  • Academic Awards for graduating high school seniors, Italian Language Study Grants in Italy for graduating high school seniors for the summer of 2025, Career Education for graduating high school seniors pursuing a career in a skilled field

In Addition to the Italian Study Grant, the Western Foundation scholarships awards range from $500 to $5000

Requirements
The requirements for applying for a Scholarship or Student Grant are as follows:

  • Applicant MUST BE wholly or partially of Italian descent, Applicant MUST BE enrolled in an accredited College, University or Community College or Trade School in the Fall of 2025

**Hogan Scholarship The Hagan Scholarship provides up to $7,500 each semester for up to 8 consecutive semesters, workshops to learn important life skills not typically covered in the college curriculum, funds to purchase college essentials, an HSF Schwab Brokerage Account to manage in order to learn how to invest, funds to study and travel abroad, and the opportunity to apply for a Hagan Graduate Scholarship good for up to four additional semesters in college. **California State PTA: Graduating High School Senior Scholarships

Two scholarships are available for student application:

  • Volunteer Service Scholarship — This scholarship recognizes graduating seniors for their volunteer service in schools and communities, allowing them to register for courses at accredited colleges, universities, and trade, or technical schools. Applicants must be PTA members graduating from a California high school between January 1 and June 30 of the current academic year.
  • $500 Dr. Ralph E. White Graduating Senior Scholarship – Honoring the volunteer and public-service legacy of Dr. Ralph E. White and his wife, Eleanor, this additional scholarship provides $500 each to two successful applicants of the Volunteer Service Scholarship who intend to pursue a career in the medical field.

Applications, reference forms/letters, and all supporting documents must be received in the California State PTA office by February 01, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. (PST). All applicants are notified of their status in March. Scholarship winners receive a letter of congratulations and a recognition certificate from California State PTA along with a check.

**For the class of 2026: The Coolidge Scholarship is an annually awarded, full-ride, presidential scholarship that covers a student’s tuition, room, board, and expenses for four years of undergraduate study. The Coolidge may be used by recipients at any accredited college or university in the United States. Anyone of any background, pursuing any academic discipline of study, may apply to this non-partisan, need-blind, program. 

Application Launch: The 2024-25 Coolidge Scholarship is now live and accepting applications! The application can be accessed here: https://coolidgescholars.org/apply/.

Application Deadline: Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at 5:00 PM Pacific Time: Please note the timezone. All application materials, including letters of reference must be submitted by the deadline.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • 2024-25 Coolidge Scholarship applicants must intend to enroll full-time at an accredited U.S. college or university as an undergraduate for the first time in fall 2026. That is to say, students in their junior year of high school, or the equivalent if home schooled, are eligible to apply. (Students who are currently high school juniors but take some courses at a local college are indeed eligible to apply for the Coolidge Scholarship.)
  • 2024-25 Coolidge Scholarship applicants must be citizens or legal permanent residents of the United States of America by the 2024-25 scholarship deadline.
  • 2024-25 Coolidge Scholarship applicants cannot be the immediate family member of any current employee, trustee, or significant donor to the Calvin Coolidge Presidential Foundation or the Calvin Coolidge Presidential Fund. (Note: Significant donor is defined as one with lifetime giving in excess of $25,000).

**$40,000 GE-REAGAN Foundation Scholarship: High school seniors who showcase leadership, drive, integrity, and citizenship are eligible to apply for a $10,000 renewable scholarship – up to $40,000 total per recipient. Recipients not only receive money for college, but also join a network of exceptional students and young professionals who desire to lead, serve, and have a positive impact on their communities. **Elks National Foundation (ENF) (two scholarships):

  1. Most Valuable Student (MVS) Contest:

    The 2025 MVS application is now open. Applications can be found on lineat enf.elks.org/MVS. The application deadline is November 12, 2024. The Elks National Foundation (ENF) awards 500 four-year scholarships based on academics, leadership, and financial need. National awards range from $1,000 per year to $7,500 per year. The national awards will lbe announced in April 2025. MVS scholarships are for students pursuing a four-year degree on a full-time basis (minimum of 12 semester hours), at a U.S. college or university next school year. Some important applicant details include:

  • Current high school seniors (or equivalent) who are citizens of the United States are eligible to apply.

  • Applicants do not have to be related to a member of the Elks.
  • Male and female students compete separately. 

          Applicants select from a list of the Lodges closest to their home address zip code. Please have your students 

          choose Glendale Elks Lodge 1289 as their sponsoring Lodge. Complete details can be found at enf.elks.org/MVS.

  1. Legacy Awards – The Legacy Awards program begins on September 1, 2024.  Legacy Awards provide $4,000 scholarships for children and grandchildren of dues-paying Elk members. The ENF offers a total of 350 national awards. The application deadline is February 3, 2025. Please visit enf.elks.org/Leg for more details and the application link.

 

**Chris Roberts Memorial Scholarship The Southern California Sports Broadcasters are offering a scholarship to any senior interested in pursuing a career in broadcasting. Interested students should email their essay and a letter of recommendation from a mentor or teacher to Pete Arbogast at peteapete@ymail.com before December 1, 2024. The scholarship has, in the past, been given out yearly between $2,000-$2500.
