Dear CV Families,
It has been another exciting and productive week at Crescenta Valley High School! Our Falcons continue to make us proud both in and out of the classroom. Last week, we had a wonderful time at SoFi Stadium, where our students represented CV with enthusiasm and pride. Girls Volleyball, Girls Tennis, and Boys Water Polo all clinched the Pacific League Championships - a huge congratulations to our players and coaches for their hard work and dedication! Girls Volleyball won their first game in CIF Play. CIF Playoffs for the other sports will begin soon! Our Cross Country team had a great race at Mt. Sac this weekend. Boys varsity finished 5th in team sweeps led by Caleb Burton—Enzo Dik, Owen Burton, Martin Macias and Dominic Esquival finished as our top 5 runners and ran impressively. Girls varsity had a great race, led by Addison Leufroy, with Naiya Rothermund and Brooklyn Oka having great days, as did Veronica Steussy and Isabelle Sabina. Lots of PR’s on the day…as we look to finish strong with league finals on Nov 6th.
Thank you to Charismatics for an amazing performance last week at a local prayer breakfast.
A special shout out to Sena Hunter, Aleks Torosian, and Jenny Nakano who participated as panelist for the GUSD Board of Education Student Voice Panel last Tuesday night in the CV Cafeteria. You can watch the event using this l ink. Thank you to Brett Midgley for being the moderator for the event. All 4 students made us Falcon Proud!
Academically, our juniors and many sophomores participated in the PSAT this past week, while our freshmen and those not testing engaged in valuable college and career readiness lessons on the California College Guidance Initiative (CCGI) website. These lessons help students begin exploring their interests, building career pathways, and preparing for future success beyond high school. Meanwhile, our seniors focused on completing college applications and participating in college readiness workshops. The focus and effort across all grade levels were truly inspiring to see!
As we approach Halloween, please remind students that costumes must be school-appropriate—no masks, fake weapons, or real weapons of any kind are allowed on campus. We want everyone to have fun while keeping our school safe and welcoming for all.
Lastly, a quick reminder that Monday, November 3rd is a non-student day. Enjoy the long weekend, and thank you for your continued support of our Falcon Family.
