As we turn the calendar to June, the energy on campus is electric. We are standing at the intersection of significant historical milestones, cultural celebrations, and the bittersweet finish line for our seniors. It is a time to reflect on how far we’ve come and to celebrate the diverse voices and dedicated individuals who make Crescenta Valley High School a truly special place.
Celebrating the Class of 2026 First and foremost, a massive congratulations to the Class of 2026! You have officially entered your final days as Falcons. From the "YOLO" energy you brought to every event to the unforgettable night where we merged Falcon Blue with Dodger Blue at your Senior Prom, you have left an indelible mark on this school. You’ve navigated the "long games," shattered records, and built a legacy of resilience. As you prepare to walk across that stage, remember that while you only live once, if you do it right, the way you have here at CV, once is more than enough.
Honoring Our Retiring Legends This time of year also brings a moment of profound gratitude as we say goodbye to several of our beloved staff members who are entering retirement. These individuals have contributed so greatly to CV’s curriculum, shaped countless student experiences, and built our school’s "reputation of awesomeness" brick by brick over the years. They aren't just employees; they are the architects of our culture. While we are excited for their next chapters, their presence in our hallways and classrooms will be deeply missed. Thank you Mr. Davis, Mrs. Tuason, and Ms. Hasmik for your decades of service and for leaving our school in a much better place than you found it.
Honoring Pride Month June marks the beginning of Pride Month, a time to celebrate the history, voices, and contributions of the LGBTQ+ community. At CV, our commitment to a "Safe and Caring Learning Environment" is a core value. We celebrate the diversity of our students and staff, recognizing that our campus is at its best when every single person feels seen, heard, and valued for exactly who they are. Pride Month reminds us to lead with empathy and to continue building a culture of inclusion where every Falcon can fly high.
Commemorating Juneteenth On June 19th, we observe Juneteenth, a vital day in American history that commemorates the end of slavery in the United States. It is a day of reflection, a celebration of freedom, and a reminder of the ongoing journey toward equity and justice. As an educational community, we honor the resilience and strength of Black Americans and reaffirm our commitment to learning from the past to create a more just future.
With only a few school days remaining, let’s keep our focus sharp. Whether you are prepping for your final exams or preparing for life after graduation, let's finish this year with the same excellence and Falcon pride that defined it from the start.
It's Great to be a Falcon! |
This week was a powerful reminder of why the Class of 2026 is truly one for the record books. We kicked things off by honoring our seniors at the Senior Awards ceremony, where over 450 students were recognized for their incredible achievements, including a staggering 55,000 community service hours and nearly a million dollars ($969,192 to be exact) in scholarships earned. It was a distinct honor to stand with David Lee as he received his appointment to West Point from the US Army and Oliver Gough as he was awarded a $200,000 JROTC scholarship from the US Marines.
Beyond the accolades, our campus was alive with spirit during Korean Culture Night. We owe a huge thank you to the Korean Culture Club, Mrs. Song, and Mrs. Won for such a beautiful event. Finally, our seniors began their farewells at Senior Sunset, sharing a heartfelt evening signing yearbooks and soaking in their final moments together. This class is exceptionally special to us, and while we will miss them dearly, we are fully confident they are ready to make the world a better place for us all. |

Dear CV Cares Coalition Members and Community Keystakeholders,
We would like to share with you a simple, delicious way to be a part of supporting your community's youth.
This June, 6 of our incredible CV Cares Youth Ambassadors will graduate and pass the torch to the next generation of change-makers. In May, our entire Youth Ambassador team hosted an informational presentation at the CV WellNEST, sharing with students the heart and purpose behind the CV Cares Youth Ambassador program. We are thrilled to announce that from that presentation, we have identified 16 students as our newest cohort — our largest yet.
This is a crossover moment. The outgoing cohort is rallying behind the incoming one, helping to seed the funding they will need for the activities, materials, and advocacy work that lies ahead this year. It is a passing of the torch — and it is beautiful.
That's where you come in.

We ask that you: Join us for dinner on June 6th Share this with your organization, colleagues, and networks Forward to family and friends — we all eat every day!
We do this with and because of this community. Thank you for continuing to show up.
