Welcome Week 2026: Everything You Need to Know

Dear Crescenta Valley High School Families:

Welcome to the 2026-2027 school year! We are looking forward to a new year at Crescenta Valley High School. We can’t wait to see our returning students and meet our new 9th graders! 

During Welcome Week, students will take their ID photos, check out textbooks and technology, register for their lockers, and have the opportunity to make purchases at the student store. Please encourage your student to use this time to ensure they are fully prepared for the start of the year.

 Notes:

  • Students with IEPs are invited to join us on 8/11  at 12:30.  

    • Special Education teachers will be on campus. 

  • English Learners are invited to join us on 8/11 at 12:30.

    • Interpreters will be available on campus. 

  • Students in Band are invited to join us on 8/11 at 12:30.

  • Students with IEPs and English Learners may also attend with their grade level.


*We strongly recommend that students arrive with a backpack to assist in carrying their books.*

Please enter campus through the Main Entrance on Community Avenue.


Important Upcoming Dates:

  • The first day of school is August 19th. Crescenta Valley High School is committed to maintaining good attendance practices, and we expect every student to arrive on time and prepared for each class every day.  You can find our bell schedule here: 2026-27 Bell Schedule

  • The Back to School LuWOW! will be held on Friday,  August 21st from 7:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. Tickets on sale during Welcome Week, and at the gate.

  • Back to School Night will be held on Thursday, September 10th. Prom Plus BBQ starts at 5:00 p.m. Class visits start at 6:30 p.m.

  • Friday, September 11th will be a minimum day and students will be dismissed at 1:20 p.m.


New Incoming 9th Grade Family Meeting:          

Parents of new students are invited to attend our virtual New Incoming Parent Meeting on Thursday, August 13 at 6:00 p.m. on Google Meets (linked). This is a great opportunity to learn about school expectations, important resources, and ways to support your student's success. 


ID Cards:

Students will take a photo and receive their Crescenta Valley ID card during Welcome Week. This should be carried with the student at all times on campus.


Student Schedules: 

Class listing will be available on the GUSD parent and student portals at 5 p.m. on Monday, August 10th for all students. If you require assistance accessing the parent portal (parent.gusd.net), please visit gusd.net. Full schedules will be viewable on the portal on Tuesday, August 18, 2026.


Lockers:

During Welcome Week, students will have the opportunity to select lockers using the Locker App, which can be accessed through the QR codes posted throughout campus. Each grade level's locker selection will open at 8:00 am the day of their respective welcome day. You can access the Locker App at https://locker.cvapps.net/.


Student Store:

Our Student Store will be open during Welcome Week, offering PE clothes, ASB cards, yearbooks, locks, t-shirts, sweatshirts, and senior packages. The senior spirit package includes ASB card, yearbook, Luau, homecoming dance, prom, grad night, and senior sunrise. Full price list and more information see below. Payment by check should be made payable to Crescenta Valley High School.

Chromebooks/Textbooks:

Students will pick up textbooks from the library during Welcome Week. If your student's chromebook is damaged or malfunctioning, they can exchange it in the library. Parents, please ensure that your student brings their old chromebook with them, as a new one will not be provided without returning the old one. Students who are new to GUSD can pick up a chromebook at the library. 


Counseling Office:

The Counseling Office will only address schedule errors, such as missing or incorrect class assignments. Please do not visit the counseling office for inquiries about teacher assignments and/or elective changes.


Last Chance Make-Up Day:

If your student cannot attend during the dates listed above, our office will be open for a final make-up on Tuesday, August 18th, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM.  If your student misses this final opportunity, they will need to complete these items during snack or lunch during  the first week of school.


School Communication:

To ensure efficient communication, our primary platforms of choice will be Parent Square and our social media accounts. It is of utmost importance that every parent downloads the Parent Square app to receive crucial updates from the district and school. If you require any assistance, visit ParentSquare. Parent Volunteers:

We greatly appreciate parent volunteers during Welcome Week. If you are interested in volunteering, please email Ms. Papazyan at npapazyan@gusd.net with the following information: Name, date(s) and time(s) available. Welcome Week will be from Tuesday, August 11 to Friday, August 14, from 8:30am-3:30pm.
