I am beyond excited to kick off another incredible year at Crescenta Valley High School. Our halls are ready to fill with your energy, ambition, and relentless CV spirit as we dive in together.

Big shout-out to the Class of 2027! This is your year to lead the nest, set the tone, and make memories that will last a lifetime. Bring that drive into your final stretch, we are counting on you to show everyone what Falcon pride truly looks like.

A huge, warm welcome to the Class of 2030! Stepping onto a high school campus is a massive milestone, and we are thrilled to have you here. Don't be afraid to try new things, get involved, and make this campus your own.

To kick off our amazing traditions right away, get ready for our very first Falcon Friday of the school year, happening this Friday! Let’s flood the campus with pride, so everybody wear BLUE! Whether it’s a CV jersey, club shirt, or your favorite blue hoodie, let’s show up united and loud.

Let’s make this year unforgettable. Bring your best energy, support one another, and let's make it a great first week. Go Falcons!

Counseling Department

Counselors are hard at work ensuring that we have a smooth opening to the school year for our students. We ask for grace and patience during any delays in responding to emails.

Students are welcome to stop by and see their counselor to address scheduling errors.

Please note that we cannot accommodate requests for teacher, period, or elective changes.

 All schedules are final.

College & Career Center News

The CVHS College & Career Center is located inside the CV Library. Students may join the CCC Google Classroom for additional information and resources using the join code: an4rsbpw.
Welcome back from the CCC staff.
  • Mrs. Karen Bomar is the Career Technical Education (CTE) Counselor and Glendale Community College Dual Enrollment counseling liaison. All Community College permission form for GCC or any other CC should be directed to kbomar@gusd.net
  • Ms. Merrick Hoel is a college adviser from the USC College Advising Corps. She is available to help all 12th grade students with the college application process and related services. Seniors can schedule an appointment with her by emailing mhoel@contracted.gusd.net

Students may still enroll in GCC Dual Enrollment or Jump Start courses for the Fall Term which begins August 31st. Students should include kbomar@gusd.net as the CV Counselor in Step 2 of the registration process.

Upcoming College Fairs or campus visits:
  • CSU College Nights- Sept 22nd
  • GUSD College & Career Fair- Oct 10th at Glendale High School. (10:30 a.m -1:30 p.m.)
We are still recruiting career and college exhibitors for the fair. Please contact Mrs. Bomar if you know someone who would like to share career resources with students. Students should pre-register to attend the College and Career Fair at strivefair.com

ASB - Student Activities

All CV students are invited to the Back to School Luau, hosted by ASB and PTSA. Tickets are on sale in the Student Store; $22 w/Falcon Pass and $25 w/o. Ticket includes access to all games and activities, laser tag, karaoke, raffle prizes, and one Hawaiian Ice treat. Themed food and refreshments will be available for purchase.
Event will take place in the CV Quad from 7-10PM, Friday, Aug 21. Students will enter through the gate near the library. We can't wait to see you there.

Falcon Pass Students and invited to purchase a Falcon Pass that provides free entry to all Football and Basketball games, as well as discounts on all spirit gear sold in the student store. Falcon Pass holders will have a separate line on big sale days. Cost is $50.

Senior Spirit Package Senior students are encouraged to purchase a 2027 Senior Spirit Package that includes a Falcon Pass and tickets to all senior events; including Luau, Homecoming Dance, Prom Grad Nite, Yearbook, a Senior Tee, and Senior Sunrise and Sunset Parties. No need to wait in long lines or worry about sold out events. Cost is $580 and will be available until Sept. 4 in the Student Store. There is a Payment Plan option for families who would like to pay over the next several months. Contact Mrs. Beers with questions.

Tryout for Boys Basketball will be held on Monday, August 24th at 7am in the Main Gym. Please be on time with your copy of the Release of Liability completed by your parents. Please note this will be the final tryout for the the upcoming season.

Talon Yearbook Updates

It's time to pre-order your 2027 Talon Yearbook! We completely sold out last year, so be sure to pre-order early for the best price and a guaranteed copy!

Current price: $90 with ASB; $95 without. The yearbook IS included in the Senior Package this year.

Yearbooks will be on sale in person at the Student Store through September 12th (Back to School Night). After that, they will be available for purchase ONLINE ONLY starting at $95 at www.yearbookforever.com

Senior Portraits: You should have received a letter from Bronson Photography to schedule your Senior Portrait sitting over the summer. If you have not done so yet, be sure to do it ASAP. The deadline to be included in the yearbook will be posted here soon.
9th-11th and Staff portraits: If you did not take your ID photo during Welcome Week, a photo make up day will be scheduled soon.

WellNEST Center

Welcome back to another school year!
As we begin the first week of school, please remind your students that the WellNEST Center is available if they are feeling stressed, overwhelmed, or simply need a moment to reset.

The WellNEST Center offers:
  • 🐾 Therapy dogs: Penny on Tuesdays during lunch and Rocky on Thursdays during snack
  • 🥨 Snacks and water for students who may need them
  • 💙 A safe and welcoming space where students can take a break and access support

Please let your students know that they are welcome to use the WellNEST Center when they need a little extra support, especially as they adjust to the first week of school.
